The Mead Unit of the Club opened 6 years ago in the Mead Elementary School on the west side of Wisconsin Rapids. The Club provides:

Power Hour (Homework Assistance)
Games Room
Gym Sports & Recreation
Technology Center
Arts & Crafts
Crest Cavity-Free Zone
Quick Smarts (Tobacco Prevention)
Passport to Manhood
Girls' Group
Leadership Group (Torch Club)
Teen Time
Basketball Skills & Drills
Movie of the Week
Tournaments & Team Play

The Mead Unit operates 3:35-6:30pm during the school year

Who are the 397 members of the Mead Unit? They are youth ages 6 - 18, many of whom come from disadvantaged circumstances:

86% of the student population of Mead School
69% economically disadvantaged
68% multiracial
15% Hmong refugee children
25% minority children
20% enrolled in special education
18% limited English proficient
40% transient families (attend 1 year or less before moving on)
